Mebala Youth Studios is based at the Lady Olebile Masire Youth Centre in Gaborone West. Colloquially known by residents as “Kwa Ga Mma Masire”, we have continued her legacy of ensuring a space where young people can learn and hone their talents in their safe environment.
The Murals & Outdoor Art
You will know you are here as you drive or walk past our walls, which are decorated with colorful murals leading up to sculptures at our gate. Starting with our America on the Move project in 2019, we’ve been adding color to G-West and surrounding areas.

Sports & Recreation

With help from the US Peace Corps and our friend, Mrs Anna Ekman (former EU Ambassador to Botswana’s wife), we refurbished our basketball court and installed a mini skate park at the Centre.
Training / Workshop Areas
We have a number of training and workshop spaces available for use by the public for a small fee (covering security, cleaning and utilities). The areas come with seating, up to 100 people.
Eco Workshop Space

Our Eco Workshop Space is made up of four rooms, which can seat 5 to 20 people.

They are most suitable for small meetings and practical training sessions (i.e. performance rehearsals). These rooms were built with sustainability in mind, using traditional methods of building and recyclable materials.
The Hall
The Hall is our largest training space, seating up 100 people. It has a stage for performances, can be used as a rehearsal space for large bands, and is most suitable for conferences, graduations, seminars etc.
The Business One Stop Shop (BOSS)

In 2019, during our Futuremakers project, we set up this open plan office for young professionals and entrepreneurs. With dedicated seating, free WIFI and two desktops for their use, many of our beneficiaries came in to do their office admin, hold meetings, or receive consultations on their business plans.
Similar to the Hall, it is also for small conferences, workshops, seminars etc. for up to 30 people.
Offices
We have a number of offices available for use by the youth or youth-based organizations as In-House Partner. We charge Cost Sharing fees for expenses such as utilities, insurance and security. We currently have nine businesses as In-House Partners. Learn more about them here.
