Mebala Youth Studios brings vibrant creativity to all our projects. Our Youth Centre is known for the large colorful murals covering all the walls and demonstrating the talents of local artists.
WIF My Script Workshop Series
We partnered with Women in Film Guild Botswana to deliver My Script, a monthly workshop series for writers. Anyone can join – whether novice or experienced.
Each workshop is Pula 50. Sessions are held every first Saturday of the month from 10am at Mebala Youth Studios. For more information, or to register, email wifbotswana@gmail.com.
Murals of Hope Project
The Murals of Hope project was designed by Young Africa Botswana as a part of an intervention aimed at Educating and Protecting High Risk Communities Against Covid-19, that was co-funded by the U.S. Embassy and the British High Commission.
These murals gained attention for their messages and colorful designs, sparking conversations between the community and our team, from questions about Young Africa Botswana, now Mebala Youth Studios, the funders of our project, the extension of the project as it is seen as something the rest of the country needs.
Pod BW – Podcast Program
In 2022 Mebala Youth Studios initiated a Pilot Podcast program in order to gauge the interest and skills level of potential beneficiaries. We received a lot of positive feedback from applicants, many of whom were passionate about learning and had a basic idea.
The pilot proved that there is a great need and interest among the youth for such a programme and we hope to raise funds to be able to continue developing and implementing Podcast Project.
